I find the new VW Beetle voice disturbing.

The new VW commercial came on and....

Why did VW change the voice of the little black Beetle? The voice has been changed to someone with a much more American-sounding accent. I loved the little German accent! Now it sounds really fake and a little creepy.

This bothers me....it's like when they changed the voice of the Geico Gecko. Not cool.........

It's the end of May already?

Wow! I can't believe it's the end of May already. Only one more month and I'll be moving from CT. I've been trying to sell as much of my furniture/stuff on craigslist. Moving is a lot of work. I've done it enough now that I should be used to it, but it always catches me off guard a little. I have a list of things that I need to do before I leave for Switzerland. It is so rewarding when I get to check something off.

I'm starting to to do more knitting. I just finished a scarf for the 4-a-Breast group. They are a group of ladies back in WI that do the Susan G. Komen 3-Day. I knit "pink" things for them to sell and raise some money for it. This one is funny. It looks like a massive pink fur stole. Pictures will come soon.

I've put the Petal Halter on a little bit of a hold. I'm currently knitting a sweater for my cousin's baby. She is due this summer, so I need to have a gift ready soon. Again, pictures soon.

Other than that, I haven't been doing much. I'm just waiting for the move.....

I like the FIB, but WOW can it be boring.

I'm working on the FIB tool tonight making a sample for JW. I'm bored and I would rather be knitting. I'm also dreaming of going to Minneapolis this weekend and Switzerland next week. I'm going stir crazy here at UConn.

I'm working on a really cute elephant toy that I'm nearly finished with. When that's done, then I can get to my petal halter. I'm super excited for it! I'm using Louisa Harding Jasmine yarn:


It has little flecks of silver in it. I'm going to take this with me to knit on the plane to and from Switzerland. It's a pretty compact project for a camisole.

I recently finished my Ph.D. research and will be moving to Thun, Switzerland in July. I'm hoping to keep up my blog better now that I will be away. This is probably the easiest way to keep in touch with everyone. I'm going to be doing research at EMPA. The lab is similar to the USA's version of NIST and I hope to be working on developing a new hybrid microscope. Good-bye CT!!!!

My boyfriend is already there and works in the same lab as I will be. I'm excited to finally be with him, since we've been doing the long-distance thing for a while now.

I'm migrating my website/blog to here. Unfortunately, I can't figure out what's up with my .mac/mobile me account, so I'll work with this for now. I'll keep y'all posted and will let you know if I'm able to go back to my original site.
